YSB Haiti has invited Professor Yunus to witness the progress the by the incubator fund supported social business entrepreneurs have made in collaboration with the Yunus Social Business Haiti (under the current name Grameen Creative Lab Haiti).
The centerpiece of Muhammad Yunus' visit is this year's Social Business conference "Eradicating Poverty in Haiti through Social Business" for key stakeholders in the Social Business movement, which will take place at the Montana Hotel in Port-au-Prince. The conference program is focused on introducing different Social Businesses in Yunus Social Business Haiti's portfolio to the Haitian community and beyond, as well as on having a broader discussion on Social Business and its potential for generating social impact for a community, a region and an entire country. Yunus Social Business Haiti is looking forward to welcoming a diverse audience representing the business, academic, nonprofit and governmental sector and encounraging the exchange of ideas and creativity around the topic of Social Business.
In addition, this year, Muhammad Yunus will take his chance to visit the local Universities to speak to the local students about his concept and its potential effect on Haiti. Under the patronage of Prof. Yunus, YSB will host a social business plan competition among the students in order to initiate prospective businesses.
