As the Managing Trustee of T. Muniswamappa Trust, a registered public charitable trust, Ms. Vinatha M Reddy has been working in the development sector since 1995. A chance encounter of a book review of ‘Give Us Credit’ by Alex Counts, proved to be a turning point in Vinatha’s life. The book that narrates the story of Professor Muhammad Yunus and his initiative The Grameen Bank inspired Vinatha immensely. She was very moved by the power of micro finance and its effect in enabling poor women to become independent.
She is the Founder Chairperson of Grameen Koota, which is today a leading microfinance institution in India, serving 15 lakh women clients and their families. Education and empowerment are closest to Vinatha’s heart and she remains committed to help change social situations for the better.
